If you’re looking for a paid summer internship that will help you to gain experience in the field of communications, this is the opportunity for you! Egg Farmers of Canada (EFC) is seeking a bilingual intern who is passionate about communications, thrives in a fast-paced environment and would like to work for one of Canada’s Top Employers for Young People and a National Capital Region’s Top Employer.  

The successful candidate will learn about our industry and work side-by-side with the Corporate and Public Affairs team to maintain and enhance Egg Farmers of Canada’s brand, and help strengthen communications programs and outreach. Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Work alongside the Corporate and Public Affairs team to:
  • Build strategies and programs that target specific audiences and help advance objectives
  • Contribute to brainstorming and idea generating sessions that tackle complex challenges and emerging situations
  • Support the planning and execution of campaigns hosted by Egg Farmers of Canada and in partnership with other like-minded organizations
  • Draft briefs, correspondence, reports, presentations and other communications items  
  • Research relevant trends linked to agriculture, food and communications. Deliver recommendations to expand and strengthen outreach programs to the team

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Strong passion for communications
  • Skilled in writing, proofreading and verbal communication
  • Ability to undertake multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Ability to adapt to a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines
  • Experience with Microsoft Office
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team
  • Diligent, motivated, conscientious and reliable
  • Available to work occasionally outside of work hours

Education and Experience:

  • Currently enrolled in a post-secondary program in Communications,  Journalism or Public Relations, preferably in third year of program or higher
  • Experience in a similar role
  • Fluency in both official languages would be an asset
