 Market Intelligence Analyst


Egg Farmers of Canada (EFC) is seeking a Market Intelligence Analyst to join the Operations team in a fast-paced, challenging, and exciting work environment. The ideal candidate for this position will have 1-2 years’ of experience in market analysis and will be responsible for providing analysis, reports, and recommendations with respect to EFC’s operational requirements. Working in a team of two[SW1] , the Market Intelligence Analyst is responsible for market analysis and forecasting activities, programs and related projects.


Duties and Responsibilities:

Research and Analysis


  • Perform macro- and micro-analytical activities relevant to Canadian egg markets
  • Produce reports and presentations outlining the research and analysis and results
  • Provide insight and recommendations to management
  • Provide ad hoc analysis, with a focus on production and markets 

Market Expertise and Forecasting 


  • Perform environmental scanning tasks to assess relevant industry trends in Canada, the US and internationally
  • Interpret information and data sets to assess current market trends
  • Produce reports and presentations outlining market expertise
  • Conduct market forecasting for egg production and prices 

  • Provide analysis, calculations and ongoing reports relevant to management of production focused programs at EFC

 Development of New Programs  


  • Assist in the development of new programs and projects
  • Assist in executing and administrating newly developed market analysis programs
  • Contribute to the management of crisis or emergency situations in regards to market intelligence and analysis 



  • Advanced knowledge of MS Excel (pivot tables and advanced formulas for example if and lookup statements)
  • Ability to prepare estimates and forecasts using programming languages (e.g. STATA, SPSS, R, etc.)
  • Proficient statistical and mathematical skills including methodologies and techniques
  • Ability to apply logical and evaluative thinking to problem identification and resolution
  • Ability to multi-task, take initiative and be results-oriented
  • Strong presentation skills
  • Excellent attention to detail 

 Education and Experience:


  • Bachelor degree in Economics, Business or a related discipline
  • Master’s degree would be considered an asset
  • 1-2 years’ of relevant work experience
